Week 3

This week we were joined by a class of students who had taken the module 'second life' in a previous semester. Everybody was very enthusiastic and took part in the class even more so than the main group. It was refreshing to have more voices and interaction withing the class. We had also been put into groups for our group project #MeToo.

Our aim this class was to understand how teams work, who is the leader and how they become one and how people work and communicated together in a team. Sitearm Madonna was a lecturer i think, he prepared a presentation in advance and went through it with us in second life. The slideshow was on Team operations tips, even though I found it very useful i also thought the information on it was fairly basic and easy to understand. One of the main things I have noticed is how because we are communicating online, which is very difficult due to peoples internet dying and voices merging together, it always makes it harder to dive into difficult topics or that the information given isn't as advanced as it could be if we were just in a class together, which I find interesting. I do love the layout of the class but it feels like a lot of time gets wasted just getting people set up and the delay in the voices along with getting everyone typing out answers.
This can also go back to how communicating in person is much easier because you can read someones body language and facial expressions while online you dont have that to go off of, especially if its just through text and not voice. This was brought up in class and how we have to communication with our group effectively so nobody gets left out or miss-interpreted.

Towards the end of class we started talking about our group project, we didnt have time for questions but we read through the brief carefully and made sure to understand what it was asking and the layers of information the #MeToo movement as a whole has. Also Sitearm was a sitck man, found that really nice since I didnt know you could edit your avatar to that extent.

I was also very late getting this blog post up, I made notes at the end of each class but completely forgot to make it into a blog post, apologies.
